I don't believe it!

No, I am not doing a Victor Meldrew.  I am not a Grumpy Old Woman even.  I am just amazed.

It is day three of my tenner week and Liz and Charlie are still safe in my purse.

I had intended going out this morning but for various reasons that didn't happen.  This afternoon I've had to take both my sewing machines to the sewing machine hospital and I didn't even call in at Coffee Costa.  Do you think that at the ripe old age of 63 I may be growing up?  I do hope not!

  1. Well done! (Like you, I'm learning to control a terrible 'coffee shop' habit because it absolutely EATS cash.) Jx

  3. You are just trying to keep me inspired and motivated across the pond-and it is working. My Lincoln's are safe where they are supposed to be.

    1. I just can't get into the daily activities though - can you? I find them a distraction. Her other suggestions (bonus points are better for me.

I love the way you call your currency Lincolns. I presume that means that Abraham Lincoln is on the notes? Lincoln is a city near me so I have to "double think".

  4. I have not found a coffee shop that serves a straight black that I can enjoy. it all tastes bitter. It is almost as bad as the weak tea that most places serve, I do like to find a place that serves tea in a pot but most of them just fling a tea bag in a pot. The ones that do a proper job are "how much!" Well done on keeping you tenner intact.

    1. I really enjoy a Costa coffee and there's an independent near me which I like as well.

When I was a vicar I used to tell people that "I drink my coffee naked" by which I meant that the coffee was naked, i.e. no milk, no sugar - straight. Funnily enough they always remembered my preference.
