NLUFO

Sorting out the clutter brings to light all sorts of forgotten projects.

Several years ago I decided that I would like to have a small business making and selling personalised bags so I started sewing.  My plan was to go to local craft fairs and take bags with local views in the hope that people would then order bags with their special photographs on.  However, it became obvious that it wasn't really a feasible plan so I abandoned it and the half-made bags got consigned to the bottom of a box.

Decluttering however has brought them to light again so yesterday I completed two of them.  The top one is a local beauty spot and the lower one a local church where my great uncle used to be Rector.  They will be presents or maybe something to give next time I am asked for a raffle prize

And NLUFO?  No Longer Un Finished Object!

  1. I need to take a lesson from you, I have a few UFO's that are waiting. Just a bit more time in the garden first though.

  2. An advantage of not being crafty or sewing-no UFO's but then every room in my house is a UFO. It took me 10 years to finish 1 enbroidered pillowcase I started when pregnant with my daughter for her. She no longer found the Noah's ark design right for her room decor.

    1. Sam, the day I run out of UFOs is a very long time away, if ever. The Room of Doom, the sewing room, the kitchen, the utility, the stack of unfinished bags. But then my life is unfinished too so everything is OK - but rather untidy!

  3. Sounds like a good business plan but an awful lot of sewing for just one person. Love the bags though -- they are really cute! I haven't tried making bags yet although I have several patterns (squirreled away someplace). I should try though as bags are rather expensive to buy. Don't worry Mary, we all have those UFO's stuck in places -- in my case there is no organization to them -- just wherever I can find a place to put them!

  7. NLUFO must be such a nice feeling of accomplishment! I had an accidental decluttering over the weekend too - freed up some space, free up my mind for sth else instead of more 'stuff'.
