Reporting in

Back at the beginning of July I said I was going to try and spend no more than a pound a day for four weeks and I haven’t reported back for ages.  Well, I didn’t manage it but my July food spend was £45.46 which wasn’t brilliant but wasn’t bad.  I’ve really been attacking the food stores.  My fridge now looks amazingly well organised and my food waste has been low just three bread rolls and a couple of lemons.  I managed to defrost the freezer so I’ve got a much better idea of what’s in there.  The tinned goods store hasn’t gone down much but that’s OK.

I am plodding on with the decluttering of the sewing room but it really is plodding.  I’ve had a couple of weeks when I just can’t work up the energy to do anything so I need to take myself in hand.  However, I’m not into beating myself up so it’s gently, gently here at Frugal Follies.

So that’s my ‘fessing up.  It’s now a new week, so I’m hoping that tomorrow I shall be full of vim and vigour.  Well, it’s a nice thought.

  1. Hello :-) in still here, I have a poorly mummy at the moment and life's a bit hectic. It feels like we're always chasing appointments. 7 months on and still no diagnosis (think Dementia) :-(. I think I have lost the blogging plot just now. Life hardly seems exciting enough to blog about lol. Must get my head in gear and start writing again. Thank you for your concern xx

You are doing brilliantly with your decluttering and your food budget, well done. Do you fancy sorting mine out lol xx

    1. Sorry to hear that. It's difficult blogging and fitting everything in at times. I work full time so I understand. FC you're doing brilliant. Keep it up.

    2. Karen, lovely hear from you! Life sounds worrying at the moment. Maybe sometime you will feel more inclined to get back but at the moment you doubtless have a plateful. Look after yourself and don't forget that you are missed and cared about.

  3. I think your July food spend was amazing. My best friend writes every item down - I would be terrified to do that as I'd be filled with guilt.

Isn't defrosting the freezer a horrendous chore... Currently it's a job to open the drawers on ours because of the frost - must do better!

    1. I loathe defrosting the freezer - but I love the things I find hidden in there! Often it's things which I have found on RFQS which I wouldn't normally buy as they are treats! Sadly, since I started on-line shopping and better stock control those little treats are getting less - but that's the cost of hanging on to my cash!
