Spring Staycation

This is just a quick post to say that I have had a lovely staycation with my friends Amy.  Once again Louise came to help me “hotelify” my home so we could relax here at Frugal Follies.

I collected Amy from Newark on Friday, Saturday we visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Sunday was church, lunch out and exploring Caistor and Monday we went to Lincoln Castle.

I feel as though I have had a lovely holiday without the hassle of packing and I have decided to visit Amy in the autumn. She’ll be coming here next year again.

One decision I have taken is that I want to explore the idea of special times in my own home even when I don't have a visitor to share them.  Watch this space!

  1. Sounds like a lovely respite. I find a morning cup of coffee on my own deck on a sunny morning beats any coffee house. If a friend or two stop by then it's better than a morning out.

  2. It sounds like a lovely time! As they say, there is no place like home and honestly, I don't think we take enough advantage of what our own areas have to offer.

  3. How lovely. Its strange how when introducing visitors to our home town we rediscover things ourselves. So true about many things.

  4. So pleased that you had a wonderful time with your friend; I'm sure she enjoyed herself just as much as you did.

I'm not sure if you mean giving yourself more local outings or cherishing your home more, but both are important. Home is a place of security and comfort - with gratitude for having one when there are so many who don't. Sometimes I moan our home is too small or I wish we lived somewhere else, but if we have been on one of our many stays in hospital ( we don't go on holidays) I can't tell you the wonderful feeling of returning to a familiar place.

Let's see our homes in new ways - and love them more!
